The 10th New Ulm Art Festival

The 10th New Ulm Art Festival will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 9 AM - 4 PM. Art and crafts vendors will be located in the center of New Ulm on FM 1094 and Pecan Street. Fine art by regional and internationally renowned artists will be showcased throughout New Ulm and a tour of resident artist Kenneth Turner's studio will be one of the highlights of the event. A painting from area artist and author, Mark A. Chapman, will be featured on this year's Art Festival poster.

On Friday, April 25th, a dinner event is planned that will include a raffle and silent auction. In honor of the late David Hickman (1937-2010), the New Ulm Art Festival hopes to raise more than $3,000 in scholarship funds to be awarded to local art students attending Bellville, Columbus, Fayetteville and Sealy high schools. Ken Turner and Hickman co-founded the original New Ulm Art Festival which was held annually from 2000 through 2007 and revived in 2013. Hickman was an influential art professor at the University of Houston for 41 years, and established their master’s degree program in art.
